Installing dell wireless 355

I am looking for any help here. If someone talks about the Dell bluetooth upgrade using the 64 bit fix, please give me a link on where to find it. Well, to save folks time, here are some things I learned.

The DellTpad utility appeared to help when I switched off the touch area. However, it was not permanent. After about 30 minutes of use my mouse still stopped working. Now, I still think it makes the mouse last a bit longer, but it is not a solution. The mouse can be revived by switching off BT with the physical switch , waiting until you hear the sound from the system indicating the hardware disconnect, and then switching back on again.

You get maybe another 10 minutes before the BT switches off again. Pretty sad. Sometimes the BT driver shows that it is off. No driver, no BT symbol in the mini-icons of the toolbar. Other times the BT driver stays on, claims to be working, and the BT enumerator is available - but the mouse is not working, and the enumerator does not actually find anything.

I have a Vostro with the Dell Wireless bluetooth module. I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit which is not supported by Dell. I have got everthing working again including the nVidia graphics card, touchpad etc. For the Bluetooth I have downloaded R for the XPS Studio 16 which seems to work just fine even though it is supposed to be for a module. Only problem is that if I turn off the adaptor, the BT icon disappears from the tray - I have created a shortcut to allow me to switch it on again.

Only remaining problem with my setup is the wireless switch no longer opens the wireless finder. This is a Quickset function and there doesn't appear to be a version of Quickset that works reliably with W7 64bit. I am another with a driver which will not work with Windows 7.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and done everything to get my mouse to work. I fix it and it works for about 30 minutes, then Bluetooth stops working with a Code 43 error. Dell, are you there? What's the problem with your computers? Browse Community. Laptops General - Read Only.

Replies I did uncheck a setting in the Power Management options long ago that made a difference under Vista, but it had no effect under Win7: I will try to post back here if installing the Windows Mobile Device Center v6.
